PMC Research Center is conducting monitoring of the implementation of the strategy and the 2019-2020 Action Plan for the Development of Penitentiary and Crime Prevention Systems in Georgia.

 

The aim of the project is to assess the progress made towards the indicators defined in the action plan, to identify achievements as well as bottlenecks in the process, and to develop relevant recommendations.

 

Specifically, within the project, the PMC RC team will:

 

  • Conduct desk research analyzing the strategy and 2019-2020 action plan for the Development of Penitentiary and Crime Prevention Systems in Georgia, implementation reports developed by the Special Penitentiary Service, and reports and studies published by international and non-governmental actors;
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with relevant public servants and representatives of the non-governmental sector;
  • Analyze international best practices in the development of penitentiary and crime prevention systems; and
  • Develop a research report assessing progress in the implementation of the 2019-2020 action plan, identifying challenges in the process and elaborating recommendations to support the Special Penitentiary Service in the pursuit of strategy goals.
